COAP, CSEC, or Advisor Recognition

Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP)
Employee of the Month Award

Each month the Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP), with the support of the President of WIU, will recognize one member of the COAP membership for outstanding service to their area, department, or the University by awarding the “COAP Employee of the Month Award.”

This award is designed to recognize performance above and beyond the employee’s existing duties at Western Illinois University based on the criteria.

Nominations can be made by supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff, or community members. An employee can have more than one nominator. Eligible employees must be current status employees of Western Illinois University and meet the criteria listed below. Employees are only eligible for the COAP Employee of the Month Award once a year.

COAP Employee of the Month Award winners are not automatically entered into the COAP Employee of the Year Award as that is a separate nomination process.

Recipients of the COAP Employee of the Month Award receive:

  • Gift
  • Reserved parking space for one month
  • Recognition on University related communications and social media platforms.
  • Name and picture on display in the Human Resources Office.

Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC)
Employee of the Month Award

Each month, the Civil Service Employees Council, with the support of the President of WIU, will recognize one Civil Service employee for their performance above and beyond the employee’s existing duties at Western Illinois University by awarding the “Civil Service Employee of the Month Award.”

Nominations can be made by supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff, or community members, self-nominations are prohibited. An employee may have more than one nominator/nomination. Nominations should include at least two examples of exemplary work. Eligible employees must be current-status employees of Western Illinois University and meet the criteria listed below.  An employee will not be eligible for the CSEC Employee of the Month for two years after receiving the monthly award.  

Nominations stay eligible for a duration of six months (or until they win).

CSEC Employee of the Month Award winners are automatically entered into consideration for the CSEC Employee of the Year (EOY) award.

Recipients of the CSEC Employee of the Month Award receive:

  • $100 stipend
  • Plaque
  • Reserved parking space for one month
  • Recognition on University-related communications and social media platforms, and the employee’s local newspaper
  • Name and picture on display in the Human Resources office.

Academic Advisor
of the Month Award

Each month, the Council of Academic Advisors (COAA), with the support of the President of WIU, will recognize one member of the COAA membership for outstanding service to their area, department, or the University by awarding the “COAA Academic Advisor of the Month Award.”

This award is designed to recognize performance above and beyond the employee’s existing duties at Western Illinois University based on the criteria.

Nominations can be made by supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff, or community members. An employee can have more than one nominator. Eligible employees must be current status employees of Western Illinois University and meet the criteria listed below. Employees are only eligible for the COAA Academic Advisor of the Month Award once a year.

COAA Academic Advisor of the Month Award winners are not automatically entered into the COAA Academic Advisor of the Year Award as that is a separate application process.

Recipients of the Academic Advisor of the Month Award receive:

  • Gift
  • Recognition on University related communications and social media platforms.
  • Name and picture on display in the Human Resources Office.
