  • Responsibilities:

    The primary function of the Culinary III at the WIU Infant and Preschool Center is to prepare and provide healthy meals and snacks for the children and the staff.

    • Prepares lunch time meal each day the center is open and sets up lunch.
    • Wash the dishes after lunch and cleans up the kitchen area.
    • Prepares the weekly grocery list and purchases groceries, staying within the budgeted amount.
    • Prepares snacks if needed.
    • Prepares menus for lunch and snacks in consultation with director.
    • Maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food.  Informing the director when something needs to be replaced or repaired.
    • Prepare snacks for Family Programs.
  • Required Qualifications:

    CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience that is comparable to that described in the lower level of this series.
    3. As required by the position to be filled, possession of the Illinois Department of Public Health, Food Handler Training Certification (from an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited trainer).

  • Starting Salary: $15.04/hour

    This is a 9 month position for approximately 16 hours per week.
