Ernest Paul Lambert Memorial Scholarship
HISTORY: The Ernest Paul Lambert Memorial Scholarship was established in the year 2001 by Mrs. Christina Taggert and her two nieces, Joyce Hughes and Janis McCurley, in memory of their brother and uncle, Ernest Paul Lambert, a 1939 Western IL University graduate who received a degree in men's physical education. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to financially assist students majoring in any field of Teacher Education at Western Illinois University. The endowment must reach $20,000 to be fully funded.
CRITERIA:
- Teacher Education major.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Minimum of 30 semester hours completed at the end of the Spring semester of application.
- An essay is required on why the candidate wants to be a teacher and what are his/her career goals.
TERMS: The award amount will be determined by the annual interest earnings on the endowment.
SELECTION PROCESS: Final selection of the recipient will be conducted by the Office of Teacher Education. Their selection will be final.

RENEWABLE? Yes. Applicant must reapply, after which his/her application will be put into the pool of applicants to be evaluated by the selection committee.
