Academic advisors who go above and beyond are chosen six months of the year as the recipient of the Advisor of the Month award. Access the nomination form and other details below.


Example of award

The Awards and Recognition Committee, established in Fall 2011, is a subcommittee of the Council of Academic Advisors within Western Illinois University. The committee is designed to highlight the talented academic advisors on campus and the heartfelt efforts they make in recruiting, retaining, and graduating students. Electronic nominations can be made at wiu.edu/advisorform.

The committee collects and assesses nominations for Advisor of the Month awards, which are presented in the months of September, October, November, February, March, and April. Nominations are made by students, faculty, colleagues, supervisors, and chairs/deans, etc.

Recipients are eligible for the Provost’s Outstanding Advisor of the Year award presented the following October.
