Charles Wright, the WIU Department of Art chair, who is originally from Conway, SC, is a member of the National Council of Art Administrators, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, the College Art Association and Tri-State Sculptors. He teaches an introduction to art class at Western and continues to exhibit his art, creating a variety of sculptural media with a focus on welded steel. His work has been exhibited regionally and nationally and is included in numerous private and public collections.
