Centennial Honors College

Blomquist to Speak at the Annual Pre-Law Symposium

The Centennial Honors College will present the Eighth Annual
Pre-Law Symposium on Monday, February 16 in the University Union Lamoine Room. 

At 6 p.m., a panel discussion, “Preparing for Law School,” will begin. It will be led by Paul Pless, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (College of Law) and two WIU alumni, attorney Tara Reagor Dahl '04 of Darrell, Dunham & Associates and Jacob Webb-White '08, a first-year law student at Northern Illinois University. 

At 7 p.m., a keynote address, “Defending the Damned: A Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Answer to the Question: How Can You Represent ‘Those People’?” will be presented by Ernest R. Blomquist, III '68, Senior partner of Massucci, Blomquist, Brown & Hedrick. A reception will follow his address. 

This event is sponsored by the WIU Foundation; Flack, McRaven and Stephens; the McDonough County Bar Association; the College of Business and Technology; the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Education and Human Services; the Department of English; the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies; the Department of Political Science; and the School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.
