Transfer Commitment Scholarship 2025-26
Transfer Commitment scholarships are available to incoming transfers and amounts may vary up to $2,000.
What are the requirements?
- Incoming transfer student.

Up to $2,000 | 3.50 GPA or higher | 3.0 GPA at WIU, maximum of six additional semesters of undergraduate classes |
Up to $1,500 | 3.25 - 3.49 GPA | 3.0 GPA at WIU, maximum of six additional semesters of undergraduate classes |
Up to $1,000 | 3.00 - 3.24 GPA | 3.0 GPA at WIU, maximum of six additional semesters of undergraduate classes |
- The GPA for incoming students is based on the final, official transcript(s) from all colleges attended.
- Submit a current year FAFSA or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid with WIU as a school choice prior to the start of the semester of award.
- Enroll in a minimum of 6 undergraduate semester hours. Requires continuous enrollment in fall and spring semesters each year.
What else do I need to know?
- Scholarships will be disbursed in equal amounts between the fall and spring semesters.
- Total financial aid and scholarships cannot exceed the direct cost of attendance for Western Illinois University (tuition, fees, on-campus housing, dining) and no cash refunds will be given.
- All scholarships are subject to the continued availability of funding.
- Available for domestic students only.
- Scholarship ends when a bachelor's degree is attained.
Priority Deadline to Apply for Admission and Register for Classes
- Awarding concludes when funds are exhausted.
- For summer/fall 2025, the priority deadline to apply for admission is August 1, 2025. Register for classes by August 29, 2025.
- For spring 2026, the priority deadline to apply for admission is January 1. Register for classes by January 23, 2025.
