MACOMB, IL – The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Melba Koontz, a building service worker I, has been selected as the December Civil Service Employee of the Month.

Koontz was cited by her nominators for her “enthusiasm and for going out out of her way to take care of anything extra.” Koontz’s nominators also said that she was a tireless worker. “She is considerate and compassionate in the execution of her duties, and her friendly personality makes her a joy to work with.”

Koontz began working at Western in 1988. She currently is working as a building service worker in Memorial Hall.

“We’d like to congratulate Melba for her diligence and for her fine work,” said Janet Koll, CSEC public relations officer.
