MACOMB, IL – Stacie Hunt, a manager in Administrative Information Management Systems (AIMS) at Western Illinois University, has been named the WIU March Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to her nominators, Hunt is "one of the greatest assets to our department, as well as to many others on campus."

"Stacie's work ethic is unmatched, and she has a willingness to always go the extra mile to help in difficult situations. She is always willing to come up with solutions and she works until she finds the answer," her nominators added. "Stacie is a great teacher and exemplifies what this University is all about. She always manages the many complex duties of her position in a cheerful and efficient manner."

Hunt began working at Western in January 1997 as a extra help secretary II in the University Union Bookstore. In March 1997, she was hired as an extra help management analyst programmer II in Administrative Computing (now called AIMS). She was hired to that position full time in April 1997. Two years later, Hunt was audited to a management analyst programmer III. In 2004, Hunt was audited to an applications programmer III, and in 2008, she was first reallocated per audit to applications analyst and then per audit to assistant manager. She was reclassified to her current position following an audit in April 2009.

"Stacie is to be commended for the positive impact she makes at Western," said Tishly Herrington, Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) public relations representative. "Her attention to detail and the work she does behind the scenes make this University operate efficiently and effectively."

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Herrington at (309) 298-3157 or e-mail TA-Herrington@wiu.edu.
