MACOMB, IL – Tim Schroll, customer service representative for the GIS Laboratory in the geography department at Western Illinois University, has been named the WIU November Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to his nominators, "Tim is a positive role model for students and fellow GIS Center employees. The level of enthusiasm he brings to work, along with his positive attitude, is vital to the work environment and are two of the reasons why the workplace functions above and beyond."

"Tim is dedicated to the GIS Center and even when he is away from work, he is still in tune with what is happening at the office. He always makes sure that the students at the center fully understand the task at hand and are able to complete the job correctly," his nominators added. "Tim is always willing to help others on work-related issues, as well as real-world issues. He is encouraging and enthusiastic. Because of this, his positive attitude helps make the GIS Center run so efficiently."

Schroll has worked a temporary employee in the GIS Center since December 2006. He was hired to his current full-time position in March 2009.

"Tim's dedication to Western is to be commended," said Laura Caldwell, Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) public relations representative. "His positive attitude and enthusiasm for his work reflects well on the department and the University as a whole."
