Pollock Named Employee of the Month
July 10, 2007
MACOMB, IL -- The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Jared Pollock, a farmer for Western's Agriculture Field Laboratory, was selected as the July Civil Service Employee of the Month.
According to Pollock's nominators, "Jared is dedicated to his job and he has the ability to handle the unexpected while working under the most extreme of conditions."
"Jared's work at the 2007 Bull Test, which included taking excellent care of the animals, led to one of our best Bull Test Sales ever," his nominators said. "He is a positive influence on the agriculture students who work for him and he is always extremely positive and professional."
Another nominator added that "Early in 2007, Jared assured the safe and successful delivery of more than 25 calves, some of which were valuable embryo transplants that might not have survived without Jared's knowledge and expertise."
Pollock began working in his current position at WIU in May 2006.
"Jared's work is another example of the various duties that civil service employees excel at everyday on campus," said Greg Phelps, CSEC public relations officer. "His impact on the agriculture department and the students represents the best in educational values available at WIU."
Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Phelps at
