Employee of the Month
December 8, 2006
MACOMB, IL – The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Jeff Stockton, manager of sports facilities, Campus Recreation, was selected as the December Civil Service Employee of the Month.
StocktonÂ’s nominators cited his positive, can-do attitude and that he does whatever is necessary to accomplish the tasks that need to be done.
“He makes the impossible seem possible. He never says ‘I can’t do this,’ rather he finds a way to make it happen,” his nominatators added. “Jeff is a wonderful resource, he is extremely helpful and his job performance is phenomenal. He exemplifies the kind of customer service we hope that all areas of the University portray.”
Stockton began working at Western in 1981 as a bowling alley attendant in the University Union. In 1987 he was promoted to bowling alley and billiards manager and in 1997 he was promoted to his current position. Stockton manages sports facilities, supervises students and coordinates the use of the Student Services tent for outdoor University and community events.
“Jeff’s excellent work ethic and his commitment to customer service are to be much-admired,” said Katharine D. Barrett, CSEC public relations officer. “Western is fortunate to have Jeff as an employee.”
Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Barrett at
