November 7, 2006
MACOMB, IL – The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Cheri Allison, staff clerk for Undergraduate Admissions, was selected as the November Civil Service Employee of the Month.
According to Allison’s nominators, her job assisting the director of admissions “entails a great deal of responsibility.”
“She is a tremendous asset to the office. Cheri is extremely organized, dependable and motivated,” her nominators added. “She is the ‘go to’ person that everyone depends on and gives everything she does 110 percent.”
Allison was also noted for the exceptional job she does representing Western to the public, enhancing the University’s image and providing “top notch customer service.”
Allison first worked at WIU from 1974 to 1976 as a secretary II. She returned to Western in 1990 as an extra-help secretary II in Student Aid and later Financial Aid. In 2001 she returned to Western full-time as a chief clerk for Financial Aid and later that year was reassigned to Undergraduate Admissions and reclassified to staff clerk.
“Cheri’s friendly, positive attitude makes a significant difference to visitors, as well as those she works with. Her dedication is to be commended,” said Katharine D. Barrett, CSEC public relations officer. “Western Illinois University is fortunate to have Cheri as a part of its staff.”
