MACOMB, IL – The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Brenda McConnell, secretary IV in non-traditional programs, has been selected as the July Civil Service Employee of the Month.

McConnell’s nominators said that not only is she enthused about her job, she is enthused about the degree program that she works with. In addition, McConnell is always “upbeat, helpful and professional.”

“Brenda is very organized, thorough and pays attention to every detail,” wrote a nominator. “She does an outstanding job representing her department within and outside of the campus community.”

McConnell started at Western in 1999.

“Brenda is to be commended for her dedication to her job at Western,” said Janet Koll, CSEC public relations officer. “She is an excellent example of someone who works hard behind the scenes making WIU a better place.”

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should call Koll at 309/298-1811 or e-mail JM-Koll@wiu.edu.
