School of Music Presents Faculty and Guest Recital April 19

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University School of Music presents a Faculty and Guest Recital at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 19 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The recital will feature WIU Music Professor István Szabó, viola, and Faculty Assistant Yeon-Kyung Kim, piano.

The program will include:

Märchenbilder (Fairy Tale Pictures) for Viola and Piano, Op. 113 - Robert Schumann (1810 –1856)
I. Nicht schnell
II.Lebhaft
III.Rasch
IV. Langsam, mit melancholischen Ausdruck

Maggiolata (Májusi dal), Op. 15. No. 2 - Jeno Hubay (1858 –1937)

INTERMISSION

Sonata for viola and piano - Niccolò Paganini (1782 – 1840)
I. Maestoso
II. Minuetto a canone. Andantino
III. Recitativo
IV. Adagio cantabile
V. Rondo. Allegretto

Konzertstück (Concert piece) for Viola and Piano - George Enescu (1881-1955)
