MCC to Host Third Annual Graduation Celebration May 8

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Multicultural Center (MCC) will host the third annual Multicultural Graduation Celebration at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in the University Union Grand Ballroom.
At this celebratory event, staff and faculty will honor the accomplishments of the diverse WIU students graduating this spring, summer and fall. This celebration is open to all Western Illinois University students regardless of race, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability or age. Students have the opportunity to receive a cultural stole during the ceremony.
Check-in and a social hour begins at 5 p.m. The program starts at 6 p.m. and features remarks from University leadership, inspirational messages from guest speakers, the presentation of stoles and recognition of student involvement and accomplishments.
Registration is free but limited. If you are a graduating student wanting to participate, RSVP by Monday, April 28. All other guests should RSVP by Friday, May 2. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff, family and friends of the WIU community.
