Theta Chi Hosting 'Dizzy Driving' Event April 7
April 4, 2025

MACOMB, IL - - Community members, faculty, staff and students will be able to learn about the dangers of driving intoxicated firsthand as the Western Illinois University Theta Chi fraternity and the Office of Public Safety (OPS) will host a "Dizzy Driving" event from 5-6 p.m., Monday, April 7 in the Horrabin Hall parking lot.
"Dizzy Driving" will give people the opportunity to drive a golf cart while wearing drunk goggles, which impair the wearer's vision to simulate the feeling of intoxication. They will attempt to drive a golf cart through a set course of cones and other obstacles to show how being intoxicated can massively affect cognitive skills and functions.
"We hope to make this a recurring event," Theta Chi member and sophomore Biology major Henry Alexander said. "I hope to see a lot of people out there."
