"Best Week Ever" Returns for 2025

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Union Board (UUB) and Western's All Volunteer Effort (WAVE) will be hosting "The Best Week Ever" to kick off the Spring 2025 semester to welcome students back to campus.

Things will kick off 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 with WAVE and UUB handing out swag items in the University Union Concourse, followed by several days of events, including Laser Tag, Bingo and a trivia night. The full schedule of events is:


  • Tuesday, Jan. 14, 5-9 p.m. - Laser Tag, hosted by UUB and the Inter-Hall Council (IHC), University Union Grand Ballroom

  • Wednesday, Jan. 15, 7-9 p.m. - "Bingo with a Purpose," hosted by UUB and RockyThon, University Union Heritage Room

  • Thursday, Jan. 16, 5-7 p.m. - College Happy Hour, sponsored by the University Union, The Neck

  • Tuesday, Jan. 21, 4-6 p.m. - DIY Dog Toys, hosted by WAVE, Sandburg Lounge

  • Wednesday, Jan. 22, 7-9 p.m. - Trivia Night, hosted by UUB and WAVE, University Union Grand Ballroom

  • Thursday, Jan. 23, 3-5 p.m. - "One Warm Coat - Pocket Notes," hosted by WAVE, Lincoln Room

Throughout the event, WAVE will be hosting a coat drive. Please drop off gently used coats to the Office of Student Engagement.

"There will be a different event each day for the first seven days of classes which will also include collaborations with Rockython and IHC," UUB President Kaitlin Guyer said. "This collaboration is meant to cultivate community through engaging and interactive events as well as service projects. Our organizations love the support given to us by the WIU community and want to give back as best we can."
