WIU Professor Holding Art Exhibition Starting Jan. 15

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University art professor Damon McArthur will have his work on display Jan. 15 - Feb. 14 at the WIU Art Gallery.

This solo exhibition, "Works on Paper," will feature McArthur's two-dimensional style, as he works mainly with paper, watercolor and assorted drawing materials. His current bodies of work explore the expressive possibilities of figuration in drawing and painting.

A reception for McArthur will be held 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21 and he will speak about his work at 5 p.m.

McArthur has taught at WIU for 21 years in the department of art and design. His work has been shown internationally, receiving several awards. He also makes single-panel cartoons for clients, including the Wall Street Journal and the Harvest Business Review.

Admission to the exhibition is free and open to the public.
