MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University academic advisor for the College of Business and Technology Allison Devolder has been named the Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) Employee of the Month for December.

Devolder nominators detailed her for her exceptional dedication to her students, who consistently highlight her encouragement, knowledge and going above and beyond for their success. This recognition follows several glowing student nominations.

"During my first year here, I struggled the entire time. In my first semester, I had to go to her office multiple times in various emotional states, typically quite upset, but every time I left, I felt so much better than when I went in. Allison worked with me to figure out ways to go about college that would work best for me," a nominator said.

A second nominator stated, "Allison goes above and beyond to show she cares for students and the University."

The COAP Employee of the Month award aims to acknowledge exceptional performance by WIU employees who go above and beyond their regular duties, based on specific criteria. Nominations can come from supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff or community members. The monthly winners receive a reserved parking space for one month and recognition from the University.

If you know of an employee who deserves recognition, nominations can be submitted at wiu.edu/human_resources/eom.
