WIU Hosts "Apply On the Spot" Event for Local High School Students

MACOMB, IL – On November 15, Western Illinois University met with students from Macomb High School and Bushnell Prairie City High School for a special "Apply On the Spot" event. This initiative allowed students to complete their applications for admission and receive immediate decisions, streamlining the process of becoming a Leatherneck.

Students also learned about early college credit opportunities during the event through WIU's dual enrollment program. WIU offers a significant advantage to eligible students by making early college courses affordable, with an automatic scholarship covering two-thirds of the tuition. These courses, including general education classes, give students a head start on their college education at a reduced cost.

WIU remains committed to supporting students through individualized guidance during the application process and beyond. Events like these reflect the University's dedication to connecting with local high school students and providing opportunities to succeed academically.
