MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Social Work program is settling into its new location in Horrabin Hall, highlighted by an open house celebration with faculty and students.

The new location not only places faculty in closer proximity to students but gives students a new location to hold club meetings and work on group projects.

"As a non-traditional student, veteran and a person with a disability, I am forever grateful for the compassion, dedication, kindness and patience that the social work faculty at WIU continue to provide me," said Doug Davis, president of the Social Work Student Association. "The efforts and actions from the social work faculty have given me many favorable viewpoints and opinions about educators."

Faculty in the social work program are excited about the opportunity to provide even more individualized attention and support to students as they pursue their social work degree. This is one of the unique factors that separates the Social Work Program at WIU from other social work programs at larger universities.
