MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University is proud to celebrate an extended National Transfer Student Week from October 18 - 26, recognizing transfer students' valuable contributions to campus life. This year's theme, "Unlocking Potential: Keys to the Transfer Journey," highlights transfer students' skills, diverse experiences and problem-solving abilities. WIU offers inclusive environments and clear pathways to help these students achieve their goals.

Rocky's Transfer Preview Day took place on October 18. It allowed prospective transfer students to explore WIU's programs, meet with current students and learn about the resources available to ease their transition.

Additionally, a Discover Western open house will be held on Saturday, October 26. This event allows all prospective students, including transfers, to visit campus, tour facilities and engage with faculty and staff. As part of WIU's efforts to assist transfer students, the University is offering October as a fee waiver month, eliminating application fees for all prospective transfer students.

Throughout the week, WIU will also focus on celebrating the transfer student experience and enhancing institutional support for their success. The Transfer Student Organization along with New Student & Family Programs will host a variety of events throughout the week. See Leatherneck Link or follow @nsfpwiu on Instagram for more information. Faculty, staff and the campus community are encouraged to participate in recognizing the strengths transfer students bring to WIU.
