State Senator Turner to Speak at NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet

MACOMB, IL - - Illinois State Senator Doris Turner will be the keynote speaker at the NAACP McDonough County Branch #3022-B Freedom Fund Banquet at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

The event is co-sponsored by the Mayor of the Ccity of Macomb, Mike Inman,, and Western Illinois University Interim President Kristi Mindrup.

The Freedom Fund Banquet theme is "All In" and will begin at 5 p.m. with a social hour in the University Union Brattain Lounge, ahead of the program and banquet at 6 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for students.

Senator Turner serves the 48th Senate District of Illinois and has been an advocate for education funding, college affordability and ensuring educators and staff have the tools to teach the future leaders of our great state. Turner currently serves as chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and is a member of the Appropriation-Education, Behavioral and Mental Health, Education, Energy and Public Utilities, Health and Human Services and State Government Committees.
