WIU Holding Two Mental Health First Aid Trainings

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University will host two free mental health first aid training opportunities in Macomb in October and November.

The first opportunity comes over the course of two days, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 25-26, at the Regional Office of Education upstairs conference room in Macomb. The second training will be held 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.

Mental health first aid will teach participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. The training is designed for employers, police officers, hospital staff, first responders and other caring individuals.
