MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Sarah Tapper credits the staff and community at Western Illinois University for giving her a chance to achieve her career goals.

Tapper is studying for her Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies and said there have been many outstanding opportunities for her through her time at WIU.

"My favorite memories have been working with the Putnam Museum as their graduate assistant, taking a group trip to Saint Louis with the GEMS club and having many interesting discussions in class with the Museum Studies MA program," Tapper said.

She said being a part of WIU has shown her that Leathernecks are dedicated to building their community, excelling in their professions and bringing positive change to the world. Tapper encourages everyone to join the WIU family, particularly if they are interested in museum studies.

"It is an incredible school," Tapper said. "The Museum Studies MA program is the best opportunity to prepare you for the field!"

As we honor 125 years of educational excellence, we invite local WIU students to share their stories and be featured in our series. Contact University Communications at U-Communications@wiu.edu to participate.
