BOT Approves FY25 All-Funds Budget, FY26 Budget Recommendations

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees approved a Fiscal Year 2025 all-funds budget at its Sept. 27 Board meeting. This budget assumes the FY25 state appropriation of $56.8 million. The University's total operating budget for FY25 is $200.9 million.*

Additionally, the Board approved the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriated operating budget and capital budget recommendations, which will be presented to the Illinois Board of Higher Education, the General Assembly and Gov. J.B. Pritzker. The Board approved a FY26 recommended appropriated operating budget increase of $26.9 million and the FY26 capital budget recommendation of $440.3 million. In addition, a capital renewal budget recommendation of $33.6 million was approved to assist with critical deferred maintenance needs.

The BOT also heard reports on Fall 2024 enrollment, facilities,academic affairs, contributions and international studies, and authorized the steps necessary for the sale of surplus campus real estate. The complete Board agenda can be found at wiu.edu/bot.

The next open meeting of the WIU Board of Trustees will be held Friday, Dec. 6 the Macomb campus.
