Steel Band Concert April 26

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Steel Band Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 26 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The WIU Steel Band is under the direction of Rick Kurasz, professor of Percussion and Associate Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication. Also featured in this concert will be special guest Tyler Carpenter.

The program will include:

Steelin' the Groove - Ken "Professor" Philmore/arr. Ross McGinnis

Little Sunflower - Freddie Hubbard/arr. Eugene Novotney

Naming Day - Darren Dyke

Long Story (premiere) - Mackenzie Block

Sitting in Limbo - Jimmy Cliff/arr. Tom Miller

Mariella's Dance - Ray Holman

This performance is open free for general audience seating.
