COFAC Hosts Young Artist Awards 2023-24

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) recently announced the recipients of the 2023-24 COFAC Young Artist Awards, an initiative dedicated to recognizing the artistic potential of high school juniors across Illinois.

The COFAC Young Artist Awards celebrate the ingenuity and creativity of young talents in the arts by inviting submissions of portfolios from aspiring artists statewide. These submissions undergo review by COFAC faculty members, culminating in the selection of five remarkable winners who exemplify excellence in their respective categories.

The 2023-24 COFAC Young Artist Award winners are:

Liam Everett Dilley


  • Hometown: Galesburg, IL

  • High School: Galesburg Junior-Senior High School

Nellie Nicole Wojdalski


  • Hometown: Prospect Heights, IL

  • High School: John Hersey High School

  • Category: Music (Piano)


Each recipient was celebrated during a special ceremony, where they were presented with a plaque and a personal letter from the COFAC dean.

Initiated by Alfonzo Cooper, Jr., assistant professor of Music, the COFAC Young Artist Awards are sponsored by the COFAC and the Performing Arts Society (PAS).
