Keithley Named AOM For January

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Awards & Recognition Committee proudly names Ember Keithley, academic advisor for the School of Agriculture, as WIU Advisor of the Month for January.

Keithley has been honored with this recognition following a nomination by a student who expressed her invaluable insights and resources to allow them to be successful.

"This Fall 2023 semester, I have had a lot of things occur, but Keithley immediately helped me avoid late registration and worked swiftly to get all the approvals I need to register for classes," her nominator said. "Anyone on the receiving end of that knows how invaluable it was to meet that deadline instead of missing it and then going through lengthy formalities.

"Keithley stayed late and stayed in constant contact when I was working on my end of things, and once I had completed my end, the nominee immediately locked in my schedule. I was very grateful."

The nominator notes her willingness to inquire about new pathways to meet the requirements of their program.

"She stayed focused on my progress track alongside me this semester. Keithley stands at the ready to file the paperwork that was brought to my attention. Most of my situation is beyond the role of "advisor" oriented, but in the areas where they are required, she has delivered expeditiously and in the areas where I have some decisions to make, she stood ready and showed the willingness to help me go after my success. I cannot thank her enough," her nominator said.

This recognition showcases Kiethley's impact on the academic community at WIU and her commitment to supporting and enriching the lives of students in the departments she serves.
