Macchi Earns National Certification for Resume Writing
February 5, 2024
MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Communication Assistant Professor Stacey Macchi recently earned the prestigious Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) credential through the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches (PARWCC).
To earn this certification, participants had to complete a compelling, results-driven resume and cover letter for a client of PARWCC's choosing. In addition to making sure these documents were error-free, participants had to follow the latest trends in resume and cover letter writing, as well as all guidelines set forth by PARWCC.
"While drafting these documents, I had to provide justification documentation for all decisions made on the resume and cover letter to prove that they met the industry standard and beyond," Macchi said.
Since 1990, the PARWCC has helped career professionals to collaborate, enhance skills and demonstrate commitment to providing professional services to the public.
"I am very excited to be able to use these skills in the courses I teach, including COMM 305, Interviewing and COMM 380 Special Topics: LinkedIn," Macchi said.
Macchi currently holds both the PARWCC CPRW certification and the Nationally Certified Online Profile Expert certification (NCOPE), has a published interviewing workbook and is working on completion of an interviewing textbook with co-author Cindy Ridle, which should be out later this year.
This certification process was made possible by the WIU Department of Communication through the Grice Endowment.
The Grice Endowment was established and funded by George L.
