WIU Achieves Unprecedented Success: Record-Breaking Triumph in the 2023 #GivingTuesday Campaign

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University is thrilled to announce a record-breaking year for the 2023 GivingTuesday campaign, a global fundraising initiative held annually on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

This remarkable effort garnered $61,243 from 317 generous donors within 24-hours, contributing to WIU programs and special projects that positively impact WIU students, faculty, staff and the University as a whole. Impressively, the total more than doubled the initial GivingTuesday goal of $30,000 thanks to a record number of donors on November 28.
Tim Hallinan, director of Annual Giving, expressed his appreciation for donors to this year's GivingTuesday event.

"It's both inspiring and humbling when our friends, alumni, faculty, staff and students unite in generosity in such great numbers, showing their belief in WIU while expressing their Leatherneck pride with a financial gift. We are sincerely grateful for their influence on our current and future students today and every day."

While the official GivingTuesday has concluded, WIU continues to connect people with philanthropic opportunities that align with their interests and passions throughout the year as part of Western's Annual Fund effort.
