School of Rock Takes the SummerStage at WIU July 14-15

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University College of Fine Arts and Communication and the WIU Department of Theatre and Dance will present SummerStage performances of "School of Rock" Friday and Saturday, July 14-15 in Hainline Theatre.

The Friday performance is at 7:30 p.m. and the Saturday performances include a matinee at 2 p.m., and an evening show at 7:30 p.m. The shows are sponsored by Clock Tower Community Bank, a division of Morton Community Bank.

General admission tickets are $20 and tickets for youth and senior citizens are $15, and are available beginning Saturday, July 1 at westernpresents.com/sor, or at the Hainline Theatre Box Office, or by calling (309) 298-2900, beginning Tuesday, July 5.

In addition to the performances, two events are being planned in advance. Performers will be part of the Downtown Summer Concert Series in the Chandler Park Gazebo at noon Wednesday, July 12. Character Dewey Finn will also perform "No Vacancy" in the backyard area of The Wine Sellers in downtown Macomb from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6. Finn is played by WIU Theatre alumnus Chad Fess, the production's main character.

The team leading the play includes Director Carolyn Blackinton; Chorographer Heidi Clemmens; Musical Director Nicholas Miguel; Production Manager Meagan Morrow; Assistant Production Manager Taylor Dahlberg; Scenic Designer Steven House; Lighting Designer Josh Wroblewski; Costume Designers Dahlberg and Tammy Killian; Sound Designer and Technical Director Dan Schmidt; Costumer Shop Manager Sheryl Meyers and Poster and Image Designer Dana Moon.
