WIU in Conjunction With SBDC to Host BOOST Program

MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University, in conjunction with the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the city of Moline and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, will host a kick-off meeting for the Business Owner Occupied Stabilization Transformation (BOOST) program at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6 on the Quad Cities campus in Riverfront Hall.

"The SBDC WIU-QC is happy to host the city of Moline and help entrepreneurs start their businesses and local business owners continue to grow their businesses," said SBDC Assistant Director Ann Friederichs. "This is truly an exciting time for the city of Moline."

Participants will gain insight into how to invest in their dreams of running a small business. The program is designed to provide entrepreneurs and current small business owners financial assistance; access to tools and skills to make their business endeavor a success; understanding of forgivable loans and direct funding to them; and brick and mortar for home-based and mobile businesses, and applicants must attend business-building workshops, work with program mentors and create a business plan through the program.

Any small business owner or entrepreneur is encouraged to attend. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be provided to all participants.
