MACOMB, IL – In response to public requests to add bricks to the Western Illinois University Alumni Plaza, a "Final Call" phase of the project has been announced, just in time for holiday giving.

The "Final Call" begins Friday, Dec. 16, and bricks will be for sale at fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/PLAZA, until June 2023. Buyers will be asked what information they would like engraved on their brick at the time of purchase, so they should be prepared with that information when ordering.

Bricks being sold include:

• Large bricks – 7 inches by 14 inches, which can include up to four lines of up to 25 characters per line, and are $250.

• Small bricks, which are 4 inches by 8 inches, which can include up to three lines of up to 16 characters per line, and are $125.

The number of bricks being sold is limited.

The Plaza Project began in 2017, and now includes more than 1,000 engraved bricks, from over 900 donors from 31 states.

The Alumni Plaza is located north of the University Union, and is connected to the Mascot Memorial Plaza, to honor WIU's live mascot, Col. Rock, both past and present. The mascot memorial contains an English Bulldog statue, which is lit at night.
