MACOMB, IL – Beginning Friday, Oct. 28, additional fencing will be installed around the Center for Performing Arts construction site on the Western Illinois University-Macomb campus for additional underground utility work and site grading immediately west of Simpkins Hall.

According to WIU Facilities Management Deputy Director and CPA Project Coordinator Ted Renner, the area will remain fenced off and inaccessible for the foreseeable future. All pedestrian traffic going to and from Corbin and Olson halls will be routed to the south and east of Simpkins Hall, or west to the sidewalk on Western Avenue. Simpkins' west doors will be accessible only as emergency exits. Students can access Browne Hall through the building's north, west and east doors. The south door will be closed.

Following the completion of work to this area, the contractor will install a temporary walkway near Simpkins.
