BOT Approves FY23 All-Funds Budget, FY24 Budget Recommendations

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees approved a Fiscal Year 2023 All-Funds Budget at its Sept. 22 Board meeting, held on the Moline campus. This budget assumes the FY23 state appropriation of $52.1 million. The University's total operating budget for FY23 is $213.4 million.*

The Board also approved the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriated operating budget and capital budget recommendations, which will be presented to the Illinois Board of Higher Education, the General Assembly and Gov. J.B. Pritzker. The Board approved an FY24 recommended appropriated operating budget increase of $19.1 million, and the FY24 capital budget recommendation of $583.9 million. In addition, a capital renewal budget recommendation of $30.7 million was approved for critical deferred maintenance needs.

"We look forward to our ongoing partnerships and work with the Governor, General Assembly and other state leaders to continue to move WIU forward and to ensure adequate funding for Western and public higher education," said WIU President Guiyou Huang.

The next open meeting of the WIU Board of Trustees will be held Thursday, Dec. 1 the Macomb campus. A retreat will be held Oct. 20 on the Macomb campus.
