'Tiny Dances' Comes to Macomb Arts Center Friday

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Theatre and Dance composition class will present its final creations, "Tiny Dances," at 7 p.m. Friday, April 23 at the Macomb Arts Center in downtown Macomb.

"Tiny Dances" is a solo created in a five-foot-by-five-foot square. Students were assigned to create in a restricted area using the tools of choreography they learned throughout the semester. The class is taught by Theatre and Dance Instructor Donald J. Laney.

Students presenting as part of the program include junior psychology major, dance minor Olivia Bishop, of Alexis, IL; senior musical theatre major, dance minor Valerie Cambron, of West Lafayette, IN; senior musical theatre major, dance minor Joe Collins, of Sherrard, IL; senior musical theatre major, dance minor Clarissa Consoli, of Roselle, IL; senior musical theatre major, dance minor Megan Graal, of West Chicago, IL; senior musical theatre major Caleb Johnson, of Lewistown, IL; senior musical theatre major, dance and communication double minor Tori Lynn and senior musical theatre major, Spanish minor Jamie Rediger, of Henry, IL.

Admission to the performances is free and doors to the Macomb Arts Center open at 6:45 p.m.
