WIU Mourns Death of University Technology Employee

MACOMB, IL -- Timothea "Thea" Gentry-Harris, 58, a Telephone Operator I, at Western Illinois University, passed away Sept. 24. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at St. Paul Church in Macomb.
"The Western Illinois University community mourns Thea's passing," said President Jack Thomas. "We extend our thoughts and sympathies to her family, friends and co-workers."
Gentry-Harris joined the University Technology (uTech) staff in November 1999 as a Telephone Operator I. During her 18 years at Western, individuals calling the main switchboard often heard Gentry-Harris' greeting. She graduated from Macomb Senior High School and attended Monmouth College, where she studied nursing.
She is survived by her husband, Steven; two daughter, Danica Gentry-Rist and Reese Gentry; seven grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters; one niece; and seven nephews.
