Peoples Energy Corp CFO, VP to Receive Alumni Award

MACOMB, IL -- A 1976 graduate will receive the Western Illinois University 2002 College of Business and Technology (CBT) Distinguished Alumnus Award during CBT Week.

Thomas Nardi, who will receive the award at a luncheon Friday, Oct. 4, is chief financial officer and senior vice president of Chicago-based Peoples Energy Corporation, a $2 billion diversified energy company comprised of five primary businesses. As CFO, Nardi is responsible for all of Peoples Energy's financial activities, including treasury, accounting, financial services and investor relations.

He has 25 years of experience in the energy industry. He joined Peoples Energy as president and CEO of its retail energy services business in Fall 2000. He previously worked at Nicor, Inc., a gas distribution company in northern Illinois, serving in a variety of operating, regulatory, finance and development positions. Nardi started his career at Arthur Andersen in Chicago.

He received his bachelor's degree in accountancy from WIU and his master's degree in finance from the University of Chicago in 1990. Nardi serves on WIU's College of Business and Technology Advisory Council, the Accounting Advisory Council and the City of Naperville Utilities Advisory Board. He is also a member of Financial Executives International and AICPA.
