Mayer Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Services for retired Western Illinois University English Professor Charles Wright Mayer will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 17 at the Wesley Village Community Center.
The service will be joint for Mayer and for his wife, Sue, an English instructor who passed away in March.
Mayer began working at Western in September 1968 and retired in 1993. He received his bachelor's degree from Ohio University, his master's degree from Ohio State University and his doctoral degree from the University of Michigan and published numerous scholarly articles.
Mayer is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth and Anna.
