Hill Named WIU Employee of the Month
September 17, 2014
MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University water station operator Clint Hill has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for September.
Hill was hired in his current position in May 2008.
According to his nominators, Hill does a great job of communicating with faculty and staff across campus.
"He had a thoughtful and well laid out public notification that helped ease community concerns regarding a recent EPA water treatment excursion," his nominators said. "He goes above and beyond normal job requirements by making numerous site visits to ensure the University maintains compliance with water and pool regulations, as well as fielding calls after hours. He also meets with faculty and staff whenever they have concerns about the water and will pleasantly and professionally address their concerns."
In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month award. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque.
The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) representative Alisha Barnett at AA-Barnett@wiu.edu.
