Email: NM-Pierson@wiu.edu Nicole Pierson, MS, CCC-SLP joined the WIU Speech Pathology and Audiology faculty in 2017. Nicole teaches/ has taught SPA100 (Introduction to Communication Disorders), SPA312 (Normal Language Development), SPA391 (Auditory System and Hearing Loss), SPA515 (Autism and Other Special Populations) and SPA521 (Public School Methods for SLPs). In addition to teaching, Nicole provides clinical supervision for undergraduate and graduate clinicians assigned to pediatric clients at the WIU Speech and Language Clinic, and supervises graduate student clinicians off campus in local school systems. Nicole runs the WIU Autism Clinic for Excellence in partnership with the psychology clinic. She also runs Speech Sprouts, which is a class designed for children ages 0-4 and their caregivers. Nicole obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Western Illinois University in 2009 and 2013. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) in Organizational Justice, Equity and Inclusion. Nicole is licensed to practice in the state of Illinois, holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds the professional educator's license (PEL).
