American Criminal Justice Association Lambda Alpha Epsilon Phi Alpha Epsilon; WIU Chapter

Macomb Area Crimestoppers John Bliven Law Enforcement Scholarship
Year in School: Junior, 60 semester hours
Major, Other Requirements: LEJA major, 3.0 GPA, graduated from a McDonough County high school
Amount Awarded Each Year: $600 *

American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Scholarship (WIU Chapter)
Year in School: Full-time student
Major, Other Requirements: 3.0 GPA, declared security minor, completed one security course, currently enrolled in a security course when applying for scholarship.
Amount Awarded Each Year: Two recipients $150.00 each *

Keith Webb Scholarship
Year in School: LEJA major
Major, Other Requirements: 3.2 GPA, LEJA major, pre-law minor, good judicial standing, strong potential for a career in law.

Jerilyn Pecharich Scholarship
Major, Other Requirements: LEJA major-also may consider majors in family and consumer sciences, industrial technology, agriculture, and computer science, good academic standing.

Kara Leigh Broughton Memorial Scholarship
Year In School: full-time student, junior/senior

Harold "Denny" Brignadello Memorial Award
Year in School: Completing internship Fall or Spring semester of next academic year, demonstrated commitment to citizenship, strong moral character, dedication to the work of law enforcement.
Major, Other requirements: LEJA, 3.2 cumulative GPA
Amount awarded: $750 (one fall intern of current year; one spring/summer intern of the next calendar year) *

Pete Lackey Memorial LEJA Scholarship
Year in School: Junior or Senior
Major, Other Requirements: Must be LEJA major, 3.0 GPAMinimum overall 3.3 GPA
Amount Awarded Each Year: $500 *
Deadline to Apply: March 15
Comments: Not automatically renewable, but recipients may reapply to be considered for subsequent years. Submit a statement outlining what the scholarship will mean to their education (one page limit).

Alejandro Valadez Memorial Scholarship
Year in School: Second semester freshman, sophomore, junior or first semester senior
Other Requirements: The student must exhibit a strong commitment to academics and must have a 3.0/4.0 GPA at WIU. Preference will be give to male students of Latino descent.

Comments: An essay answer to posted question, letter of recommendation and high school transcripts must be submitted

Illinois State Police Memorial Scholarship
Year in School: Sophomore standing or above, including graduate students.
Other Requirements: Full-time student, preference to descendants of Illinois State Police Officers (regardless of major), with preference given to descendants of those that were either killed (Preference #1) or made disabled (Preference #2) while in the line of duty. If there are no descendants of Illinois State Police officers attending WIU in a given year, scholarship may be given to any Law Enforcement and Justice Administration major who meet all other criteria.

William P. McCamey Public Safety Memorial Educational Scholarship
Year in School: LEJA Graduate students who have been accepted to the Master’s Program in LEJA and/or are part of the LEJA Integrated Baccalaureate/Master’s program at WIU.
Other Requirements: minimum of a 3.25 GPA
Comments: evidence of campus/community involvement are required. Financial need is also a consideration.

Greg & Dorothy Chapman Community Policing Scholarship
Year in School: Must be LEJA major, Minimum of 30 hours of course work completed
Other Requirements: GPA of 2.8 or above in all college coursework
One page essay answering the following questions:

- What are your career aspirations?
- Explain your community sevice involvement.
Comments: Preference given to those with experience in an Explorers program
Amount Awarded Each Year: Award is in the amount of $1,000 each academic year, to be divided equally between the fall and spring term and applied directly to the student's account.Deadline to Apply: March 15

Lu Yu Jiun Scholarship
Year in School: Graduate Student
Major, Other Requirements: 3.0+ GPA, LEJA major, Non-US resident
Amount Awarded Each Year: $500 *

Phillip Benne Memorial Scholarship
Criteria:
To be eligible for the Phillip Benne Memorial Scholarship Fund, applicants must:
- Be a major in Law Enforcement & Justice Administration, with a minor in Security Administration
- Have earned at least 60 semester hours (junior or senior status)
- Preference will first be given to residents of Peoria County, then central Illinois.
Amount Awarded Each Year: Amount of award will be $1,000 annually, applied to the student's WIU account in two installments, $500 in fall semester and $500 in spring semester. *
