Resume/CV

About Me

I have been interested in exercise science since I was in high school and have been part of the field since my first day as an undergraduate student at Penn State University.  My non-academic professional experience is quite diverse and I have worked in many areas of our field, including ergonomics, cardiovascular and athletic performance testing and evaluation, and strength and conditioning.  During my doctoral work I became very interested in motor behavior and the changes in movement capabilities that occur with aging and I have published multiple articles in journals such at Physical and Occupational Therapy in Geriatrics, the Journal of Applied Gerontology, and Research Quarterly in Exercise and Sport.

I am passionate about scuba diving and the science behind safe diving practices.  I am a certified scuba instructor as well as trained technical diver.  I have traveled extensively and participated in diving expeditions around the world, including Australia, Central America, Iceland, and Greenland.  I am particularly interested in cold water diving and its effects on human physiology.  My diving research has been presented in many forums and I have published research in the International Journal of Aquatic Research and Education, Sources - Journal of Underwater Education,  and the journal International Maritime Health.
