Keynote Speaker:  Ruth Knop

Ruth teaches mathematics at Parkway West Senior High School in St. Louis, and previously taught at Francis Howell North High School.  She is currently the president of the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics.  Ruth was recognized as the 2010 Parkway District Teacher of the Year, and also this year was awarded the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching from the White House; she is also a National Board Certified Teacher. Making math visual through technology, manipulatives, and modeling are Ruth’s strengths in the classroom, especially with students who find mathematics challenging.

Closing Speaker:  Jennie Winters

Jennie is the Math and Science Coordinator for Lake County, and serves the 265 schools throughout the county by facilitating workshops, coaching teachers and administrators, modeling in classrooms, facilitating curriculum development, and designing both administrator academies and teacher trainings. In addition, she serves on various state committees including the Math Assessment Advisory Committee, ISAT work teams, and the CCSS for Mathematics training development team.
