Quinn Announces $5 Million Investment for WIU-QC Riverfront campus Phase III Design
MOLINE, IL -- Gov. Pat Quinn announced today (Oct. 24) a $5 million investment for the Phase III of the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Riverfront campus in Moline. The funding comes from Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program.
"The Quad Cities is a great place to live and work, and the WIU Quad Cities Campus will continue to grow and prepare students for the in-demand careers of today and tomorrow," Quinn said.
The $5 million investment announced by Gov. Quinn will fund Phase III design work. The final phase of the Riverfront campus is comprised of an 85,000 square foot academic building that will house classrooms, labs, high-bay specialized laboratories, offices and student resources and services. The total estimated project cost is $34.6 million.

Phase III Programming Study
The University will be conducting a Programming Study for Phase III of the Quad Cities Riverfront Campus in Spring 2013. The Study will be inclusive of students, faculty, staff, and community members and will help determine the location of Phase III on University property in conjunction with the Campus Master Plan and the programs, services, and amenities that will be included in Phase III construction. The University will also continue to advocate for Phase III design and construction funding from the State of Illinois.
