About Program

What you will learn

Peru is one of the biggest countries in South America by population, geographic size and economy.  A large portion of the country is very rural, creating a divide betwen the needs of the cities and the rest of the country.  In this Study Abroad Course, immerse yourself in Peruvian culture while focusing on the various cultural, social, and political institutions that shape the country's economy.  You'll learn more about the Andean society with its achievements, challenges and problems in the economic aspects of health, education, income, employment, etc.  Visit rural communities to see projects initiated by local NGOs such as artisanal weaving, organic farming, and community-based tourism.
