Quad Cities Campus
The Office of Student Affairs has opportunities available for you to gain on-campus work experience and develop skills while earning some money through the Work Study (WS) program. The WS gives students the opportunity to work in various departments on campus during the academic year and contribute to Western’s academic and administrative departments’ projects and programs. It allows students to contribute towards their education expenses, make use of their free time, gain experience, helps them develop transferable skills, boost their resumes and earn money. However, the type of work the student is required to accomplish may differ from one department to another according to the duties performed by each department. Student participants should be willing to dedicate -10-20 working hours per week. The student is compensated on a bi-weekly basis.
Work Study is just one type of student employment offered on the WIU-Quad Cities Campus. For all types of employment, see our Types of Student Employment section of this website.
First time student employees must complete an I-9 form when hired. The I-9 form requires students to bring with them original employment documents. Most students use either an original unexpired U.S. Passport OR a WIU School I.D. Card AND an original Social Security Card. There is a complete list of all acceptable documents on the last page of the I-9 form.
Western Illinois University is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.
