Free Yoga in Malpass Library

A free yoga session for relaxation and stress relief will be offered in the Garden Lounge of Malpass Library on Monday, December 14th, from 4 to 5 PM. Led by Heather McIlvaine-Newsad of the Anthropology Department, this bring-your-own-mat session is free and open to the WIU community.

“This session is appropriate for anyone, regardless of their previous experience with yoga,” says McIlvaine-Newsad, “and will mostly be stretches and easy poses that anyone can do.” Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring their own mat or towel to sit on, she added.

Outreach Librarian Christina Norton explained that this yoga session is being offered as a part of larger stress relief initiative in the WIU Libraries. “In addition to the coloring pages, crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles that we make available to our students during finals time, the Libraries are very happy to offer this more physical and social option as well,” she stated.
